It was drawing regularly that made me both want to and able to make this . Drawing made me both begin to understand and want to try for myself other ways of arranging line, colour and shape in space. Knowing I could be quick and crude in one way allowed me speed and crudity elsewhere and looking at things in the world with my eye and arm helped me fatten my imagination and even begin to approach a kind of narrative. It has also undoubtedly transformed my moving image work, the thing that used to be my main activity before I discovered so many delicious distractions.
